Horane
Smith is a Jamaican-born Canadian-based writer. He has been a
journalist for more than twenty years, having worked in just
about all aspects of newspaper, radio, and television. He was
Senior News Editor/Producer/Reporter for JBC-TV in Kingston,
Jamaica. He also acted briefly as an Assistant Director of
Television News. Since then, he has been mainly writing
commentaries for a number of newspapers and magazines and has
witten several novels over thrat period. The highly-successful
Lover's Leap was the first to be published. Underground to
Freedom is the second. Mr. Smith was awarded the 1981 Jack
Anderson Memorial Scholarship for Journalism to study Mass
Communication at the University of the West Indies, Mona, Jamaica.
